So we finally broke ground out in the field yesterday!  It felt great to get the tractor going and put my newly restored plow to work.  The original discs started getting clogged with loads of wet leaf mulch but my shovel man (Dad) helped keep things clean until we eventually took the discs off.  Now it’s just two big plow blades slicing through the cool earth.  In the background above is my brother Phil and his friend Omid, who helped out with picking large rocks out of the field.

Yesterday’s cold, cloudy weather with snow flurries felt a lot more like Fall than Spring, but we lost an hour last weekend, so Spring is supposed to be starting soon…

I’ve plowed two small sections for the very earliest crops – peas, lettuce and spinach.
