This week I’ve been sanding my moldboard plow with a metal wheel brush.  I found this plow out in the woods across India Brook, along with a pile of old horse implements and an 11-tooth cultivator I’m also trying to get field-ready.  This double bottom (two plow blades) Dearborn implement is probably from the 50s – the steel is in pretty good shape, but the plow blades – as you can see above – have become pretty rusty over the years, so I’m stripping them down and then painting on some rustoleum.  Below is a diagram from an old parts book – this thing looked pretty good in it’s day!
